 Wait ... Christmas is how soon??

So you swore, up and down, to yourself and to your dog and to anyone else around who would listen...

That, This Year, you would shop early.
But, it didn't happen.  Again.

Well ... No Big Deal.  I've got you covered.

What you do is... you find some cute little holiday themed things (hit the $1 store ... but look for sorta "classy" stuff.  Avoid cheap smelling soaps and whatnot, look for sorta silly fun things. Or nicer quality stuff.)  Or just head to your favorite place that sells cute trinkets.

Now... make some tasty cookies (cookies= quick + easy), decorated in festive fashion (think sprinkles)...


Wrap the cookies in some pretty plastic wrap (don't they make some with christmas trees on it now?) and tie with ribbon.

Then stick all these little things in a small, festive gift bag.  Add in some sweet candy treats. Tah dah!  DONE!

Or... even quicker... skip actually making the cookies, and instead whip up an adorable cookie mix in a jar, tied with a ribbon and sporting a pretty little tag with instructions.  (It's pretty and you make them do the baking instead of you!)

Either way, I'm pretty sure I've heard that it's really the thought that counts.  But, sugary treats don't hurt.

So, get out there... get festive!  And have a very merry Christmas!  Christmas comes but once a year... and now it's here... so enjoy it, and don't freak out.  Too much.  Until next year.

Emo Girl and Cat woman Tubby Girl Doodles

Just some cute little doodles I drew...  the bottom ones came first, and were simply spur-of-the-moment scrawls.  They came out of me thinking about the images of girls and women that are presented in the media, how even supposedly positive images still often present some sort of idea of a need for perfection.  And my feeling that this can be very harmful to the sense of one's self.  No one is truly perfect, but I think that everyone has something special about them, that makes us who we are.  And, in being yourself, living life, enjoying things, learning, living and growing -- and, often failing... in that there is its own beauty.

So these little doodles aren't perfect...  they haven't even been photoshopped, aside from a little brightness/contrast adjustment (the bottom ones, not even that, if I remember correctly).  The top two -- emo girl and catwoman -- were made a bit more intentionally.  I really liked how the first ones turned out, and I've used them a lot on digital collage-creation website Polyvore; so I drew some more tubby girl doodles that were fall and halloween themed.  These are the couple I liked best, so I scanned and uploaded them first, but there may be more to come.
